Recently, AAC Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with Transcend Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen Office), a leading provider of high-end automotive communication chips. The collaboration will focus on advancing in-vehicle signal transmission and processing technologies, delivering superior and diversified solutions to clients, and driving innovation in smart and digital cockpit experiences.
Automotive acoustic systems now play a pivotal role in enhancing immersive experiences and interactive capabilities within intelligent vehicle cockpits. Demand for advanced audio applications—including panoramic surround sound, zonal voice recognition, road noise cancellation, and AVAS—continues to rise. The average number of audio nodes per vehicle has surged from 2 in 2014 to over 6 today. With the commercialization of RNC algorithms, this figure is projected to exceed 8 nodes.
The growing demand for in-vehicle audio nodes presents significant challenges for automotive audio bus design and layout: increasing data transmission volumes and bandwidth requirements, stricter latency demands for audio processing algorithms, increased wire harnesses complicating vehicle wiring, and EMC/EMI issues arising from complex long-distance harnesses.
Amid challenges in developing commercial high-speed multimedia vehicle buses, Transcend Semiconductor successfully launched its breakthrough MBus1.0 series—a cutting-edge automotive audio communication chipset—within just two years of founding. The product delivers industry-leading advantages, including low latency, high bandwidth, power-over-cable capability, simplified vehicle wiring harnesses, and superior EMC/EMI performance, with performance indicators matching or exceeding specifications of comparable products from global industry leaders. Mass production is scheduled for July 2025.
Sophia, Chairman of Transcend Semiconductor, said, “With over two decades of industry expertise for our core team, we delivered our sample products within 20 years, and they have earned high recognition from industry-leading clients. Meanwhile, our MBus1.0plus series is designed for next-generation E/E architectures, delivering breakthrough improvements in transmission speed and node capacity to address evolving market demands.”
Ma Yan, Head of Strategic Investment at AAC Technologies, said, “Establishing efficient high-speed signal transmission across cockpit nodes and streamlining platform development through digitalization while minimizing complex wiring harnesses are fundamental industry requirements. With Transcend’s rich design, product, and market experience in automotive signal processing, we are confident they will deliver exceptional products to advance cockpit digitalization across the industry. This strategic partnership with Transcend strengthens our position as a system-level acoustic solutions provider by enhancing our core technology portfolio spanning hardware, algorithms, and chips. Through deep integration of both parties’ complementary strengths, we will continue delivering superior, diversified solutions to clients and end markets.”
