On March 12, Clarivate Analytics, a global leading authority in intellectual property and technology information analysis, released its Top 100 Global Innovators 2025 report. Enterprises including AAC Technologies, Tencent, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., BOE, Ant Group Co., Ltd., and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited, were included in this list, with AAC Technologies standing out as one of the two representative companies from the electronics and computer equipment sector and having been included in the list for three consecutive years. This recognition underscores AAC Technologies’ research and development capabilities and cutting-edge technological advancements, as acknowledged by international authorities, affirming AAC Technologies’ leadership in global innovation.
Clarivate’s Top 100 Global Innovators List evaluates companies across various dimensions, including the number of invention patents, influence, globalization, and technological uniqueness. The list aims to honor those innovators who have made significant contributions to global innovation and has long been regarded as an important benchmark for assessing the innovative strength of companies.
Currently, AAC Technologies has established 19 R&D centers worldwide, employing over 4,200 dedicated R&D engineers and technicians. AAC Technologies holds independent core technologies in micro-acoustics, precision optics, electromagnetic transmission, precision structures, sensors, and semiconductors—all maintaining leading market shares globally.
AAC Technologies has cumulatively filed more than 18,000 patent applications globally, including more than 13,300 invention patents, which account for over 70% of the total filings. Invention patents undergo a stringent examination process, offer extensive protection, and have a validity period of up to 20 years. The industry widely recognizes invention patents as a representation of significant innovations and breakthroughs in specific technological fields, and their proportion is positively correlated with a company’s innovative capacity and technological level.
In terms of business distribution, AAC Technologies has the highest number of patent applications in acoustics and electromagnetics, and optics,which accounts for over 55% of the total. AAC Technologies has seen the fastest growth in patent applications in the optical business in recent years, with last year’s total applications increasing by over 50% year-on-year. Several optical innovations, including WLG, have achieved mass production breakthroughs and will soon be unveiled with flagship smartphones from various brands.
Moreover, with the accelerated implementation of terminal AI and the innovation of human-computer interaction methods, AAC Technologies is vigorously developing emerging fields such as automotive acoustics and XR. Last year, the total patent applications in the XR field grew by nearly 27% year-on-year, while patent applications in automotive acoustics was more than twice that of 2023.
Regarding global presence, AAC Technologies has filed over 9,000 patent applications in China, accounting for the highest proportion, followed by over 3,000 applications in the United States. Notably, AAC Technologies has filed 3,837 PCT international patent applications. AAC Technologies ranked eighth in China regarding 771 published PCT international patent applications as early as 2021.

It is reported that the companies listed in Clarivate’s Top 100 Global Innovators 2025 have a combined annual operating revenue of USD 4.6 trillion, representing 4.4% of the global economy. All of them regard innovation as a core business strategy, with an average investment of 8.8% of their revenue allocated to fields such as science, engineering, product design, and problem-solving, totaling nearly USD 290 billion in investments.
Clarivate Analytics believes that the global inventions have increased 80 times since 2000.
