AAC’s In-Vehicle Tech Scores “Lighthouse Project Award” at Porsche China Innovation Day 2024

On November 1st, the “Porsche China Innovation Day 2024” took place in Beijing, organized by the Porsche China Innovation Office.

The event featured keynotes from Porsche’s management and board, along with a review of projects from the “Porsche China Innovation Accelerator” held in May. Awards were also given to the participated startups. Notably, the project Rhythm Space, a collaboration between AAC Technologies and Porsche China Innovation Office, was honored with the “Lighthouse Project Award”.

Rennie Zhang, the head of AAC’s Technology Research Center, said, “It’s an honor for Rhythm Space to be recognized with Porsche’s ‘Lighthouse Project Award’. It’s a testament to AAC’s forefront in automotive haptics and sound, and it shows how well our visions align with Porsche’s when it comes to smart cockpit user experience. We plan to keep improving our award-winning project and keep innovating for more smart cockpit scenarios to make every Porsche ride more enjoyable and comfortable.”

At the event, AAC displayed the award-winning seat Demo, smart surfaces, and steering wheel prototypes with haptic feedback, which drew significant interest from participants and earned the approval of Porsche’s top executives.

Moreover, in the showcase of exemplary projects, Rennie Zhang shared insights on AAC Haptic Seat Solution, fostering engaging discussions with Porsche China’s event hosts and other attendees.

AAC Haptic Seat Solution: Integrating Leading Haptics and Sound Technology

AAC Haptic seat solution fuses the company’s state-of-the-art haptic technology with its isolated audio zone acoustics, offering users an immersive and multi-sensory experience that engages both touch and sound.

Introduction to AAC’s 3D Haptic Technology

AAC’s innovative 3D haptic technology enhances the haptic experience by integrating static hardware with dynamic algorithms, creating a new dimension in multimodal interaction. The solution features three key areas: Music Haptics, Video Haptics, and Engine Feel, designed to provide passengers with a customized, intimate, and delightful driving experience.

Music Haptics: AAC’s innovative sound haptic algorithm aligns with the beat of the music, allowing listeners to physically feel the rhythm. This technology goes beyond the typical low-frequency music responses, offering a full-spectrum response that generates rich, layered vibrations. It can also integrate with the private sound system of the headrest to create a personalized 4D music experience.

Video Haptics: Designed to meet the needs of in-vehicle entertainment, AAC’s video haptic algorithm syncs with the scenes in films and videos, providing an immersive sense of motion, space, and location. This feature enhances the in-car movie-watching experience by transforming it into a 4D adventure.

Engine Feel: AAC’s engine feel haptic algorithm adds a layer of sound and vibration to electric vehicles, mimicking the experience of driving a traditional fuel-powered car. This creates an engaging, immersive driving experience that enhances the joy of driving for users.

Most sound-to-vibration technologies on the market only convert low-frequency sounds into haptic feedback, missing out on the mid and high-frequency ranges. AAC’s 3D haptic technology, however, uses a unique algorithm that groundbreakingly achieves a full-spectrum response, translating everything from the deep 16Hz bass to the sharp 15000Hz treble into a perceivable haptic experience. This allows users to discern the nuances of each instrument, from the rich tones of the piano’s low notes to the cheerful midrange of the guitar to the bright clarity of the flute’s high notes.

Furthermore, AAC’s 3D haptic technology offers a flexible hardware setup with independent channel control over the actuators, creating an immersive spatial haptic experience. Users can experience sound moving all around them, as if they’re in a three-dimensional auditory space. This is a significant upgrade from the single-channel actuator control found in most seat haptic technologies, which limits the overall experience.

Introduction to AAC’s Independent Audio Zone Technology

AAC’s Independent Audio Zone Technology is redefining the audio experience in vehicles with its innovative car speaker hardware, cutting-edge algorithms for independent audio zones, and expert acoustic tuning. This technology offers riders a more intimate and immersive listening experience.

Tests from AAC’s tech lab show that headrest audio systems with AAC’s Independent Audio Zone Technology provide 25dB of isolation, cutting sound leakage by about 67% compared to standard headrest audio systems. This means music or phone calls are contained near the listener, increasing privacy and immersion without disturbing others. AAC is also set to introduce a 30dB solution for even better experience.

Beyond this, the technology is flexible, user-friendly, and efficient, fitting various vehicle models and smart cockpit designs.

AAC Haptic Seat Solution: Leading a New Experience in Smart Cabins

New research from the Huajing Industry Research Institute suggests that the global smart cockpit market is set to hit $44 billion by 2026, growing at a compound annual rate of 11.3%. This trend highlights the significant potential for growth in this sector, which is increasingly becoming a part of consumers’ daily lives.

As vehicles evolve from mere transportation to a third living space, consumers are demanding more from their smart cockpits. They’re looking for an experience that goes beyond basic controls and traditional aesthetics, seeking out intelligent, personalized, comfortable, and even luxurious environments that result from the seamless integration of hardware and software.

Haptic feedback and audio technology are pivotal in delivering these enhanced experiences, and AAC’s haotic seat solution stands out. It blends AAC’s vehicle haptic and acoustic solutions to provide a multimodal, private, personalized and comfortable experience with aesthetics that meets the high standards of users and the industry.

AAC, a frontrunner in sensory experience solutions, has quickly made its mark in the smart car sector, offering comprehensive sensory interaction solutions that include sound, light, touch, vibration, and perception components. With its advanced technology and extensive manufacturing experience in haptics and acoustics, AAC’s automotive haptic and acoustic solutions are now in mass production and featured in several popular smart car models, with more projects in the pipeline.

Looking ahead, AAC is committed to focusing on user value, exploring smart cockpit scenarios, and introducing new technologies and products. AAC aims to deepen partnerships with smart car manufacturers to craft unique smart cockpit experiences that create sensational experiences for users!
