On December 1, ByteDance’s AI assistant, Doubao, and ZTE announced the release of the Nubia M153 engineering prototype, which features a technology preview of the Doubao mobile assistant. As a key contributor to this innovative AI phone, AAC Technologies (AAC) supports its core perceptual capabilities with a self-developed, high-performance X-axis linear motor and dual-speaker system, creating a more natural and trustworthy smart interactive experience.

In this first publicly available “Doubao AI phone,” users can activate Doubao with voice commands or the side key. It simulates human actions like tapping, swiping, and typing to effortlessly handle complex, cross-app tasks, such as one-click price comparisons for food delivery and generating smart message replies. This marks a generational leap for mobile phones, transforming them from mere “tools” into “intelligent agents.”
AAC: Advancing Perceptual Capabilities for the AI Era
As large models are increasingly integrated into end-user devices, AI is evolving from a software-only feature to a revolutionary experience that seamlessly blends software and hardware. Leveraging years of expertise in multisensory perception technologies such as acoustics, haptics, and optics, AAC consistently provides the industry with foundational capabilities that offer superior performance, faster response times, and more closely emulate human perception.
Additionally, AAC continues to strengthen its strategic position in the “AI+Perception” domain. AAC recently announced the acquisition of shares and other equity securities in Dispelix Oy, a leader in AR diffractive optical waveguide technology, to further bolster its strategic expansion in the optics and XR sectors. By combining Dispelix’s industry-leading optical waveguide technology with AAC’s decades of profound experience in optics, precision manufacturing, and system-level integration, the partnership will accelerate the global commercialization of this technology for both consumer and enterprise wearable devices.
Amid the accelerating global evolution of “AI+Terminal,” AAC has launched deep collaborations with leading large-model and smart-terminal companies worldwide to jointly explore new avenues for innovation in this field. The company provides key sensing solutions for various next-generation AI phones, wearables (like AI glasses), and novel forms of smart hardware, including high-performance speakers, X-axis linear motors, microphones, optical waveguides, and advanced cooling systems.
Looking ahead, AAC will continue to collaborate with its ecosystem partners to establish a new paradigm for smart devices centered on “AI+Perception.” It will consistently drive user experience innovation across smartphones, wearables, and smart cars, making AI a true extension of users’ everyday capabilities.
